Luca Garzione & Luigi R.Gargano the EarthLife duo

1) ”Firstly, for those who might not be familiar with EarthLife, could you share a bit about how you both came together to form this duo and what inspired the name?”

EarthLife was born in 2015, the name literally recalls “Life on Earth” as since the dawn of our project the idea has always been to tell our path, our journey and to express in Music every aspect of the reality that we have known and that we continue to discover, leaving the sign of our passage on Earth through art.

We come from the same place, a little town in the south of Italy, where we met and started to move our first steps together.


2) ”Your sound is truly distinctive. What are some of the primary influences that have shaped your musical style? Are there any artists, past or present, that you particularly admire?”

Our musical influences are very wide, being EarthLife the union between a pianist and a producer of Techno Music we take inspiration from Classical to Contemporary Music, and that’s why it’s difficult to enclose all the artists who have contributed to our music growth in a few lines. We can say firmly that we love music at 360 degrees, regardless of genres and categories. 

Obviously, it is not difficult to understand the sound we prefer and consequently the artists we particularly admire.

3) ”Can you walk us through your creative process? How do you typically go from an initial idea to a finished track? Do you both have specific roles or do you collaborate on every aspect?“

Our creative process is always different and at the same time very natural, in short, wanting to describe our roles we can say that Luca mainly deals with the sound design, the mix and the IT part, Luigi with the arrangement, the harmonization and the composition of melodies. Although this is not always the case, sometimes we work alone and it often happens that the roles are reversed.

4) ”With the momentum you’ve gained so far, what can fans expect from EarthLife in the near future? Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations you can share about?”

The near future will be decisive for our artistic journey, 8 years have passed since the beginning of EarthLife and now we feel ready to fully express what we have inside having gained great mastery thanks to the research and hard work of these long years. We are working on a really ambitious Live Set and we can’t wait to let you hear our latest creations. 

5) ”Given the rich history of electronic music in Italy, how do you see yourselves fitting into this landscape? Is there something unique you feel you bring to the table?”

The Live Set we’re working on will surely represent something distinctive that will give us the opportunity to carve out our space in the Italian music scene, which has always stood out thanks to the excellence of our country’s artists who spread our way of making music around the world.

We will fully express the essence of EarthLife, the contamination of styles and genres in a deeply personal performance that tells the story of our life a in Music.

6) ”Every artist has a track or performance that holds a special place in their heart. Which one of your tracks or performances means the most to you and why?”

Transport’ (Carl Craig remix) by Juan Atkins & Moritz Von Oswald is a track that marked us a lot and the performance we loved the most surely was at T7 in Paris for the energy of the people and the efficiency of the club.
