• First and foremost, we’d like to thank you, Lela, for agreeing to participate in the event on the 14th of October in Ibiza. We’re quite curious about your latest collection ‘Essential’. Could you tell us more about it?” Who are the models you’ve been using ?

Oh, firstly, I’d like to extend my gratitude to the wonderful Lotus team for this warm invitation. I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the event on the 14th of October, and I’m sure it’s going to be a smashing success! As for ‘Essential,’ it’s a collection deeply rooted in simplicity, and it encapsulates the beauty I see in everyday moments. My inspiration for this collection stems from the timeless elegance of female beauty and intelligence, which I believe are the most essential and captivating elements. Working alongside Rachel Montague & Maria Sole Ingravallo for this has been an enlightening experience – their grace and dedication truly brought my vision to life.

• Lela, many great artists have a moment or an experience that steers them towards their passion. Was there a particular moment or image that pushed you towards and made you realise it was your calling?

My passion for photography blossomed from a very young age. I further honed my skills and understanding of the art when I studied at the Academy of Art in Belgrade. Today, I continuously strive for perfection in my craft, aiming to evoke emotions in both my models and those who view my photographs.

• We’ve seen the photos you took for the launch of the new fragrance ‘La Belle Fleur Terrible’ by Jean Paul Gaultier with Bonnie Strange, and they are fantastic. What incredible work! Where did you take the pictures, and can you tell us more about that experience?

Working with Bonnie Strange for the launch of Jean Paul Gaultier’s fragrance ‘La Belle Fleur Terrible’ was truly a milestone. I’d like to give a big shoutout to Bonnie for making the experience so memorable! We had the privilege of shooting in some hidden gems around Ibiza – a paradise on Earth! Each location exuded a unique charm, creating the perfect backdrop for our vision.

• Working for iconic magazines like Vogue ,and Elle surely comes with its challenges. What has been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career, and how did you overcome it?

Every project comes with its unique set of challenges, but working with esteemed magazines like Vogue, and Elle has been nothing short of a dream. My biggest challenge has always been evolving with the ever-changing landscape of photography. Yet, with a supportive family and a love for learning, I’ve managed to stay passionate and innovative.

• Living in Ibiza, with its unique landscape and vibrant culture, must surely influence your work. How does the environment and atmosphere of Ibiza reflect in your photographs

Ibiza is simply a haven! Its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and the magic in its air deeply influence my work. It’s like painting with light where the island itself lends a spectrum of colours and moods.

• Every artist has unique sources of inspiration. Beyond your surroundings, are there any photographers, artists, or historical events that have deeply influenced your style and approach to photography? •

Beyond the mesmerising allure of Ibiza, I’m profoundly inspired by the greats in photography, the timeless beauty of Renaissance art, and the ever-evolving fashion industry. It’s a blend of history and contemporary styles that shapes my unique perspective

• For aspiring photographers who admire your work and dream of having a career like yours, what advice would you give them? And what are your expectations and goals for the future of your career?

To all the budding photographers out there, always chase your vision, be patient, and cherish every learning opportunity. As for the future, I’m buzzing with excitement about a massive project for a prominent magazine and some super-cool photo shoots. While I can’t spill too many beans now, I promise it’s something to look forward to!
